I'm back in Shanghai safe and sound (and working on getting pictures posted from Japan).
I would just like to share that I have now discovered that there is heat in my apartment. Thanks Miki and Dave for telling me there is a mode on my air-conditioning unit for heat. I took my remote down to the front desk and they told me which setting is for hot air :) I'm now blasting heat.
